Come Dance with Us!
This intensive will push students to grow as dancers by learning different styles, technique, and working on the ability to learn dance in an intensive setting from industry professionals. Students will get feedback on how to grow as dancers and what steps to take to continue their craft.

What to Wear and Bring:
Form fitting clothes and dance shows. All dance styles will be taught, so bring you tap & ballet shoes, if you have them. If not, tennis shoes or boots will for for tap and socks for ballet.
Bring a lunch, water and snacks for the day.

Meet the Dance Instructors
DeeDee Munson
DeeDee is an Academy Director & Choreographer for North Texas Performing Arts. She is originally from Ft. Smith, AR and has been teaching and educating students for over 30 years. She is the former General Manager/Artistic Director for the Power House of Dance. Her credits include Kilgore College Rangerette, Stephen F. Austin Repertory Company Member, Stephen F. Austin Pom Squad member and coach, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, and Dallas Mavericks Dancer. While attending SFA she won two consecutive NCA National Dance Championship titles. She is also a former Walt Disney World Dancer where she performed in The Beauty & The Beast Show, Pleasure Island Explosion Dancers, various conventions and special events, and the Rhythms of the World Show at Tokyo DisneySeas.
DeeDee has taught and choreographed for drill teams and dance teams across the country as well as being a head instructor and adjudicator for MA Dance. She has appeared in Body Wrappers, Dance Spirit, Cheerleader & Danzteam, YM, and Glamour Magazines. She also modeled for Disney Animation where her likeness was used for the image of Princess Kida in Atlantis Milo’s Return. Her television appearances include Good Morning Texas, Good Day Dallas, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Salvation Army Halftime with Reba McEntire, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade with Aaron Carter and John O’Hurley, Live with Regis and Kelly, the Oprah Winfrey Show and Street Talk with Wendy Williams. She was also a dancer/actress in the movie Miss Congeniality starring Sandra Bullock and can be seen judging in the documentary Sweethearts Of The Gridiron featuring the Kilgore College Rangerettes. DeeDee has served as a judge for The USASF Dance Worlds held at Walt Disney World. She has served on USASF Dance Worlds National Advisory Board, Power House Dance Foundation, Twelve 12 Ministries & the Dallas North Texas Performing Arts Management Board.
Donathan Flucas
Donathan started his dance education in high school with the Alief Jazz Ballet dance program under the direction of Anna Ashy. While in AJB, Donathan studied a wide range of dance genres such as ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, flamenco, salsa and many other styles of dance. After high school, Donathan began his teaching career with the dance company MA Dance. He has traveled all over the United States for the past 16 years teaching young dancers techniques and routines to help there knowledge od the dance grow. At the same time Donathan started teaching, he also began his professional dance career with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company. It was there Donathan trained Dina Vail (Juliard), Naomi Glass (Houston Ballet), Richard D’Alton (National Ballet of Cuba, Orland Ballet) and many other great teachers Donathan was also a Las Vegas finalist on Season 4 of the hit TV show, So You Think You Can Dance.
Kindle Kelley
Kindle Kelley was born and raised in Rockwall, Texas. Kindle began dancing at the age of 9 and quickly fell in love with the sport. While in middle school, Kindle was the captain of the Williams middle school drill team for 2 years. During her highschool years she attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. During her time at Booker T Washington, she was on Repertory companies 1 & 2. Kindle was also selected to attend National High School Dance Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she and her fellow company members were selected to perform in front of major dance companies. After high school, Kindle decided to focus on her studies at Southern Methodist University, where she was also a member of their POM squad. Kindles favorite styles of dance are: contemporary, lyrical and jazz. She is currently earning her degree is Applied Physiology Sports Management, and she hopes to become a Public Relations specialist for a professional basketball team. She also hopes to own her own dance studio one day!
Rhodessa Bell
Rhodessa got her start in dance at the age of 12 under the direction of Koni Riley at Dance Dimensions studio in Mineola, Texas. She is now the assistant artistic director/rehearsal director for both Rhythm Express and Rhythm Elite at Dance Dimensions. Rhythm Elite has claimed several national championship titles due to Rhodessa’s integral role since 2010. She received her BFA at Stephen F. Austin where she was a member of the SFA Pom Squad and the SFA Repertory Dance Company. After graduation, Rhodessa moved to Houston where she studied under the direction of Richard Hebscher Amber Thornton, Jhon Stronks,and Dina Veil. Houston expanded her performance vocabulary and from 2004 to 2008 she performed with several professional companies like Houston Metropolitan, Psophonia,
Wyld Style, and Planet Funk. This exploration expanded her training to include ballet, contemporary, modern and hip hop. Since 2003 Rhodessa has worked for Marching Auxiliaries teaching dance and creating choreography for children of all ages nationwide. In 2009 Rhodessa completed a year residency in Amsterdam Netherlands. During her stay she taught hip hop and lyrical jazz for Amsterdam Dance Centre, Body Action, and Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts. Within the year Rhodessa also choreographed an evening length work called “Laughter” set on a performance company she created called UniverSouL Dance Company. She was honored to showcase her work as well as perform at several festivals and local venues throughout Holland. Rhodessa’s love for teaching and performing has
span more than two decades. Thorough in her approach, she gives special attention to the specific needs of each dancer she teaches. After leaving a class with Rhodessa, dancers are sure to feel more accomplished, energized, and empowered.
Riley Madlock
Riley Madlock joined the NTPA family in the fall of 2020. She teaches dance, choreographs for NTPA shows and is an Assistant Core Learning Counselor for the NTPA Academy.
Riley has a Master of Arts in Teaching Dance from New Mexico State University and a BA in Mass Communications from Ouachita Baptist University. She was adjunct dance faculty at NMSU, co-founder/director of the NMSU Hip Hop company, graduate assistant teaching collegiate ballet and modern, and organizer/creative designer for all NMSU dance performances. Riley danced with Henderson State University Dance Company for three years and NMSU Contemporary Dance Theatre for two years. Riley has choreographed for drill and dance teams around the state of Texas. Her choreography has won numerous awards and been adjudicated at four different American College Dance Association conferences around the south.
Riley has trained and performed with many professionals around the world including Dmitri Roudnev of the Bolshoi Ballet, Gavriel Spitzer of Batsheva Dance Company, George Staib of StaibDance in Sorrento, Italy, and T. Lang Dance in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been the resident choreographer/performer for The Muses Project in Hot Springs, Arkansas since 2017, is an online instructor for Desert Eagle Dance Productions in El Paso, Texas, and is the Designer and Social Media Manager at Amalgamated Toast.
Summyr Whaley
Summyr Whaley is a New York Radio City Rockette and was most recently seen on NBC for The 75th Celebration of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer. She can also be seen as a lead dancer and as Miss Utah in the major motion picture Miss Congeniality, starring Sandra Bullock and Michael Cain. Summyr was Iris Kelly on the European tour of Fame the Musical, and was also a back-up dancer for the Greek pop-star Nikos Vertis in Athens, Greece. Other regional credits include Annie Get Your Gun, Chicago, and The Music Man. Summyr has appeared in numerous television specials, commercials, and industrials in both her native Texas and in New York City. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Dance. Summyr is also a proud alumni member of the jazz program at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival under the direction of Chet Walker. She is also a contributing writer for Stage Door Access (stagedooraccess.com) a website designed for performers. She has been a teacher/choreographer for the past eleven years. Teaching opportunities have allowed her to travel around the country giving dancers master classes, choreography, and pre-professional dance seminars. Summyr is regularly brought in to choreograph for dance teams, studios, and conventions in Texas, where she currently resides with her husband and three children, after living and performing in NYC for six years. She has also created a clothing line specifically for young girls in inspiration of her daughter Bella called, Bella Girl Clothing.
