Peyton Churchwell – Resident Director

Peyton received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education for English from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and he is currently getting his Master of Arts in Theater at Texas A&M University at Commerce. He has trained in opera and acting for 7 years and was taught different techniques of dance from ULM.

He has performed in many productions of both college and community theater in the Northeast Louisiana area: Hugo Peabody in Bye Bye, Birdie, Ubaldo Piangi in Phantom of the Opera, and George Gibbs in Our Town. Peyton has directed a production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas during his time as a drama teacher at Neville Junior High School in Monroe, Louisiana, and assisted in directing a production of Disaster! at the Strauss Little Theater. Peyton made his NTPA debut playing Lt. Joseph Cable in the community theater production of South Pacific.

Peyton is so excited to continue his growth as a director, teacher, and performer by working with NTPA as a director, and he hopes to inspire and instill the love of theater in the arts in the students and actors he gets to work with.
