Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion2023-04-05T18:07:55-05:00

North Texas Performing Arts is committed to acknowledging diversity and promoting equity and inclusion in all programs. The NTPA Governing Board of Directors, Management Boards, and NTPA Staff strive to create performing art spaces that are positive, safe and inclusive regardless of one’s race, creed, gender, religion, orientation, communication differences or abilities. We encourage our families and patrons to exhibit our “Ten Characters” taught at NTPA including integrity, leadership, respect, and more importantly, to love one another.

We proudly share and present this powerful video featuring Christian Robert Black expressing in his own words what it means “To Be Black in America”.

Diversity-in-Action Production Series

Through the leadership of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, NTPA plans a series of youth productions each year that focus on telling stories of diverse characters on stage. While these stories are sometimes challenging to tell or watch, we feel it is important for youth of all races, ethnicities, genders, and neurodiversities to be able to explore and tell these stories in a safe and supportive environment.

Each production in NTPA’s Diversity-in-Action Production Series is coupled with Community Connection programs that enable our students and patrons to further explore topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion as it relates to the show. Recent events have included talkbacks with professional actors, visual art exhibits, and blood drives.
