Foundations for College-Bound Performers (Dance) – Collegiate Pursuits

This class is designed for high school dancers preparing for musical theatre college auditions and pre-professional training. Building on foundational jazz technique, dancers will refine alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and coordination with an emphasis on clarity, consistency, and audition readiness. Training will focus on advanced jazz vocabulary including complex turns, leaps, stylized across-the-floor progressions, and audition-style jazz combinations commonly seen in collegiate dance calls. Students will work on quickly learning choreography, applying notes efficiently, and performing with confidence, precision, and storytelling.Emphasis is placed on key skills evaluated in college audition rooms and prescreen submissions. This class is for intermediate to advanced-level dancers and is designed to prepare students to enter college dance callbacks with confidence, strong technique, and a clear understanding of collegiate-level expectations.
