Synopsis

A Night of Melodramas will compile TWO one-act melodrama plays into ONE night of knee-slapping popcorn-throwing fun! Cheer on the heroes as they attempt to save the heroines from the fiendish villains in BOTH one-act plays. A Night of Melodramas adds fast-paced slapstick comedy with exaggerated drama for a fun-filled night of theater.

In SAVED BY THE SERENDIPITY CIRCUS, the evil Victor Vornado promises to provide a home for Miss Priscilla Purity’s orphanage and land to set up the tent for Miss Serendipity’s circus; however, Victor has no intention of fulfilling this promise. The truth of Victor’s evil plan is revealed when Miss Purity and Miss Serendipity find that not only is there no house on the land, but it also has a mysterious layer of black gunk on the ground. All seems hopeless… or is it?

In RASCALS UNDER THE BIG TOP, the Pampermouse Circus is found empty! All the star performers – Jumbo, the elephant; Jo-Jo, the loony chimpanzee; and even the dancing bear – have mysteriously gone missing. Conrad Mooch, along with his partner Patty Larceny, schemes to take over the circus, marry Rosie (the granddaughter of the circus owner), and make his new act – invisible Russian Wolfhounds – a sensation! Will his plans be foiled by the simple Jim Nasium?

Join us in the fun through these tales of heroes and villains in A Night of Melodramas at NTPA-Fairview.
