A hilarious musical whodunit! Based on Charles Dickens’ final unfinished novel, this hilarious whodunit invites the audience to solve its mystery by choosing the identity of the murderer. The tale is presented as a show-within-a-show, as the Music Hall Royale – a delightfully loony Victorian theatre company – presents Dickens’ brooding mystery.
We are excited to partner with Broadway Licensing to workshop a new script and score with the writing team of a brand new musical, County Fair! We will stage the musical in the first week of the intensive. In the second week, playwrights and composers Matt Webster and Taylor Ferrera will join us to workshop the final product. This will include script changes, music edits, and overall vision support from the creators of the piece! Our production will be the flagship production used to advertise the show on the Broadway Licensing website.
After the death of their father, two sisters, Claudia and DJ Stratford, return home to deal with their inheritance: a massive and beloved county fair in rural Georgia.
