About the Class

Come join the Starcatchers Monthly Musical Theater Appreciation class! We invite you to join us once a month for this FREE class where we will learn all about the important parts of musicals! Each month we will watch a movie musical and talk about the parts of the show, the characters, the music and the dancing we see in each show. Our goal is to expand students’ knowledge of musical theater through a fun and engaging class where we can all learn together. This class is a great opportunity to meet other Starcatchers families while learning about musicals.

Open to all ages. This class is designed for individuals with various disabilities and their families.

North Texas Performing Arts Starcatchers Creative Arts Camps

About Starcatchers Creative Arts Camps

These camps are designed for youth and adults with disabilities to learn the fundamentals of putting on a theatrical production. Under the direction of therapeutically minded staff, campers will create stories, develop characters, create set pieces, and put together a short theatrical production. Each camp has a specific theme and will end with a performance showcase for families to watch. The showcase will be the last half hour on the last day of camp.

About the Class

This class is designed to help students work with basic vocal technique and musicianship. Every class will begin with some vocal warmups, and then students will learn a number of songs from broadway shows that they might not have heard before! Most songs are performed as a group, but some students will have the opportunity to sing as a soloist if they desire. During the last class, students will present what they have learned to friends and family!
