North Texas Performing Arts is proud to announce the promotion of Resident Director Jason Robert Villarreal to the role of Senior Resident Director.

 Jason has been a valuable member of the NTPA creative staff since 2019 and during that time has directed dozens of successful shows as well as teaching acting, make-up and costume classes. Jason brings a positive attitude and a dramatic sense of style to every production he leads at NTPA. In addition to his directorial talents, Jason manages NTPA’s Costume Closet providing affordable, convenient costume rentals to all NTPA productions.

Jason began his journey with the performing arts studying the dance Ballet Folklorico in his hometown and Texas border city, Edinburg. In 2006 he moved to Dallas to attend The University of Texas at Arlington where he graduated with a BFA in Theatre Performance. Before joining the NTPA team, Jason performed in multiple national tours including Dora The Explorer (Tico The Squirrel), Rapunzel, A Very Hairy Fairy Tale (Socretese), and A Christmas Story.
