Student and Parent Expectations

We expect all students and parents to behave in accordance with the Ten Characters of NTPA. If these expectations are not met in relation to other students or staff, NTPA reserves the right to ask students to leave their lesson.

Tutoring Consultation Session

Prior to beginning tutoring lessons, it is recommended that each family schedule a 30-minute consultation session with the parent, student and tutor to determine academic goals and to plan for the appropriate number and length of tutoring sessions. Please schedule this preliminary consultation session with the Private Lesson Coordinator. Be prepared to share academic areas for growth, materials utilized and goals for growth.

Cancellation Policy

A parent must give 24 hour notice for any missed academic tutoring sessions. If a student misses a tutorial session without notice or notifies the director less than 24 hours in advance, the lesson will still be charged and will not be made up.

If the director is made aware of the student’s absence with 24 hours notice, then the lesson will be rescheduled and made up.

If a tutor must cancel a lesson, the tutor will schedule a make up lesson with your student within the semester. A tutor must provide 24 hour notice of a session cancellation (except in the event of an emergency.)

Scheduling Tutoring Sessions

Most tutoring sessions should be scheduled during Academy hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), however students should not miss classes to attend tutorials.

Bad Weather/School Closures

NTPA may not close for bad weather, because many times by the afternoon or evening most of the bad weather has passed. If you are concerned or unsure of cancellation, please call the front desk at 972-422-2575 or check our Facebook Page

If a tutoring session must be cancelled due to bad weather, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at the discretion of tutor.
