The Shops of Willow Bend and Starwood Retail Group win Business Council for the Arts New Initiative Award for 2018!
Founded by the philanthropist and developer, Ray Nasher, the Business Council for the Arts connects business, leaders in our community and arts nonprofits to provide a vibrant cultural arts environment in North Texas. Each year the Business Council for the Arts hosts the Obelisk Awards to recognize the outstanding efforts on behalf of business leaders, Companies, and arts non-profits who have grown the connection between commerce and culture.
North Texas Performing Arts is proud to announce that The Shops of Willow Bend and Starwood Retail Group are being honored with the 2018 New Initiatives Award from the Business Council for the Arts. Since its opening its doors in 2001, The Shops of Willow Bend have made their spaces available for many nonprofit events. In 2017, The Shops of Willow Bend and Starwood Retail Group invited North Texas Performing Arts to move its corporate home and theatres to The Shops of Willow Bend. Our new home with four theatres, rehearsal, set and costume spaces have allowed NTPA to provide many more learning opportunities for North Texas youth. This move would not have been possible without their generous gift of space and donations. With their donation, NTPA has doubled its learning opportunities for young people.
