About the Workshop

Join TCU Theatre’s Department Chair, Jennifer Engler, for a workshop focusing PHYSICAL CONNECTION TO AUDITIONING. Jennifer will spend time with students focusing on finding ways of inhabiting the audition space and getting more physically connected to their audition pieces. Monologue work and text to body connection will be the focus on this in-depth workshop. She will lead a discussion about TCU Theatre and what the program has to offer. About the Instructor

Jennifer Engler, TCU, headshot

Jennifer Engler is the Chair of the Department of Theatre at TCU where she has taught acting, directing, dance, and movement for the past 20 years. She has worked professionally in Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and the Dallas/Fort Worth area as an actor, director, choreographer, and was a member of the improvisation group Second City. Jennifer earned her MFA in Acting from Michigan State University and is a native of Wichita, Kansas. At TCU Jennifer Engler has directed and or choreographed more than 20 main stage productions. Some titles include Agnes of God, Noises Off, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cabaret, A Chorus Line, Brighton Beach Memoires and Sister Act. Jennifer is certified in Vinyasa Yoga and has professional affiliations with Actor’s Equity Association, Association of Movement Educators, Music Theatre Educators of America, and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
