About the Festival
The Plano International Film Festival is a youth film festival and awards celebration presented by North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) Studios. The film festival will provide a platform for students in middle school and high school to showcase their stories on the big screen.
The Inaugural Plano International Film Festival will take place in the Historic Downtown Plano Courtyard and Cox Theatres February 9-11, 2024, representing the first youth-dedicated film competition in Collin County. The event features a grand opening on Friday, February 9 with programs through the weekend, and a closing ceremony on Sunday, February 11. Judging this event will be movie and film critics, producers and professionals from across the region evaluating films for originality, content, and artistic development.
Open to middle school and high school filmmakers, submissions for the festival will be accepted November 15-December 30, 2023. Video’s selected for showing will be announced by January 15, 2024.

Categories
We accept films from students ages 19 and under that are currently in a middle school or high school. If a film has an equal mix of middle school and high school students involved in the film, then the film should be entered into the High School category. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Entry Fee
Regular Entry – $30
Late Entry -$40
If you or your organization are not able to pay this fee, please reach out to us. We have a limited number of waivers/scholarships that may be available.
How to Submit
Complete the online entry form and payment. It takes about 10 minutes to fill out. We highly recommend you pull all the information together in advance to help speed up the process.
Please be prepared to enter:
- Your name and contact information (must be submitted by an adult)
- Students’ names and cast/crew credit information
- The name of the film
- A short description or log line
- The length of the film
- A YouTube link to view the film
