About Our Productions
Students are integrally involved both behind and in front of the camera as writers, producers, directors, camera operators, lighting/sound techs, editors, and on-screen actors. With the guidance of industry professionals, students produce a film that is premiered in a public screening at NTPA or a local movie theater.
Auditions for actors typically take place 2 weeks prior to the production with a final call back on the first day. For those interested in being behind the scenes, crew positions are usually determined at the first in-person meeting. All students are welcome to participate.
Productions include unique adaptations of classic youth stories, original scripts, and unique work of our students!
Students of all skill levels are welcome. We have a place for you!

FAQs
What if my child has no experience or doesn’t know what crew position is a good fit?
If you don’t know where you fit in just yet, no worries! We offer monthly 1-hour classes where we discuss what NTPA Film Studios is and the crew positions available. We even help you put together that first audition.
Ages?
NTPA Film Studios is geared toward middle school and high school age students.
What is a NTPA Film Studios Festival Production?
NTPA Film Studios offers a specific Filmmaking program geared towards those interested in learning what it takes to get a film into the film festival circuit. Very similar to NTPA productions, students lead the production of the film. On screen roles and crew positions may be limited for these productions.
What do the classes/workshops entail and does my child need to take them before doing a production?
Students do not need to take a class/workshop before signing up for their first production. Classes are scheduled occasionally throughout the year and give students the opportunity to take a deeper dive into a specific area of film.
Where can I take NTPA Film Studios Classes or Productions?
Currently, we offer programs in Plano at NTPA’s Willow Bend Center of the Arts. We will soon be adding classes and productions at our Fairview and Southlake NTPA locations! Stay tuned!
Do the films count as production credit for ACE/JACE?
Yes
