The North Texas Performing Arts Covid-19 Task Force of 30 medical doctors, legal counsel, board members and others meets weekly to update our safety protocols so that we can provide the safest possible environment for our students and patrons. Those protocols have allowed us to reopen and enjoy over 35,000 visitors, 120 productions and almost 1,000 performances in our spaces without incident.

At the time of this announcement, masks are still required for all NTPA activities. The below outlines NTPA’s timeline and conditions for removing the mask mandate.

Given improving hospitalization rates, availability of vaccinations for all NTPA student ages, and continued changes in regional and national medical guidance, NTPA has adopted the following timeline recommended by its NTPA Covid-19 Task Force.

Drawdown Strategy

  • When Dallas Trauma Service Area Covid-19 Hospitalizations drop below 8% of Total Hospitalizations and remain below this level for seven consecutive days, masks will be STRONGLY RECOMMENDED but not required in NTPA facilities and activities. Other Covid protections will also be relaxed.
  • NTPA will issue an announcement when its masking requirements are lifted.
  • Should hospitalizations exceed 8% for seven consecutive days or exceed 15% at any time, masking will be required again for NTPA facilities and activities.

North Texas Performing Arts strongly encourages all participants and patrons, who are able, to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of Covid-19 within the NTPA family.
