We’re showcasing North Texas’ brightest stars at North Texas’ Got Talent presented by North Texas Performing Arts. This is not just a high-stakes talent contest – it’s a celebration of our region’s incredible artistic diversity and exceptional talent!

We’ve received submissions from the area’s best singers, dancers, magicians, and more, and now our elite finalists will perform LIVE at the North Texas Carnival of the Arts on September 28 from 4:00-5:00 PM, competing for their chance to become “North Texas’ Top Talent! and win an amazing cash prize.”

Don’t miss out on this thrilling opportunity to see the best performers in North Texas! This event will be the grand finale of the North Texas Carnival of the Arts, the largest indoor arts festival in North Texas. So show up early to experience some of the other amazing arts opportunities from 35 local arts organizations. Activities available 10 AM-5 PM.

Contest Rules

  • Contestants must reside in the North Texas region (defined for this contest as any zip code north of Waco, Texas).
  • Contestants must be at least 8 years of age, with a birth date of on or before September 28, 2016.  NTPA reserves the right to confirm a Contestant’s birthdate. Participants may be grouped into the age categories of Youth (aged 8 to 17) and Adult (18 years and older).
  • Group submittals are welcome. Groups are aware that any potential earnings won will be divided among participants.
  • Performance Time: A Contestant’s performance may not exceed 4 minutes in length.
  • Types of Acts: Acceptable acts include but are not limited to singing, dancing, instrumental performances, magic tricks, comedy, poetry reading, and other family-friendly talents.
  • Any act needing special accommodations may reach out to contest@ntpa.org.
  • Registration and Audition Process: All potential participants must complete the online audition form in order to be considered for participation. Entry fee ($20) must be paid in full at the time of online audition submission. Participants must ensure that links to their audition video are viable and can be viewed by the judging panel before submission.
  • Entry fees may be waived upon need-based application.  To make a need-based application, please email our event team at contest@ntpa.org.
  • A backing instrumental track (if used) must be secured and provided by the performer and the performer is responsible for any fees or costs associated with its use.  Contestants selected to perform live must provide the track in advance of the event upon request.
  • Judging Process: A standard ballot will be employed by each judge. Performances will be judged based on creativity, stage presence, technical skill, audience engagement, and overall impression. NTPA reserves the right to change criteria at any time. NTPA and Judge decisions are final and non-negotiable.
  • Props and Equipment: Participants may use props and equipment necessary for their performance, as long as they do not pose a safety hazard or disrupt the flow of the show. Instrumentalists will be responsible for providing their own instruments.
  • Language and Content: Performances must be appropriate for a mixed-age audience and should not contain explicit or offensive language or content or inappropriate behavior. Candidates may be disqualified at the sole discretion of NTPA and/or the judges.
  • Support Personnel: Each performer may have a limited number of support personnel (e.g., stage assistants, sound technicians) if needed but must arrange and bear any costs of such support.
  • Sportsmanship and Respect: Participants, audience members, and judges are expected to show respect and sportsmanship throughout the event. Audience members and other participants are expected to applaud other performers and remain quiet during performances. Cell phones should be silenced.
  • Prizes and Recognition: Prizes will be awarded to winners in each age group, with the first place receiving $500, second place $300, and third place $200. Depending on the number of participants, Contestants may be divided into two categories based on age groups.  Additional prizes or special recognitions may be awarded at the discretion of NTPA.
  • Safety Measures: Safety is a priority. Proper lighting, secure stage conditions, and emergency procedures will be in place.
  • Rehearsal and Performance Times: Participants must attend scheduled rehearsals and be ready to perform at their designated times during the September 28th event. If invited and at the sole determination of NTPA, performers may be asked to perform at the North Texas Performing Arts Stardust Awards Gala on November 2, 2024.  
  • Disqualification Criteria: Contestants must conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times. Any form of harassment, cheating, or misconduct, inappropriate behavior, exceeding time limits without prior approval, or any actions that jeopardize the safety or integrity of the event, failure to adhere to or cooperate with the contest guidelines or other reasons may be grounds for disqualification as solely determined by NTPA and or the judges.
  • Media and Publicity: In submitting their application and video submission, the contestant agrees to the use of their name, likeness, and performance footage for promotional and other purposes. Contestants may be required to participate in promotional activities before and after the event.
  • Liability:  North Texas Performing Arts and its affiliates are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the contest and all Contestants participate at their own risk.
  • NTPA reserves the right to change or modify contest rules, guidelines, prizes, or any other terms and conditions of this program or wholly cancel this program at its sole discretion.
