North Texas Performing Arts is thrilled to share the news that NTPA alum Amanda Reid has joined the Broadway company of “Hell’s Kitchen” and is understudying multiple roles in the show. Amanda took the stage for her Broadway debut on November 16, 2024 as the lead, Ali!
Amanda shared the stage with American singer-songwriter and actor, Shoshana Bean, who played the role of Jersey. (pictured)
Hell’s Kitchen features music and lyrics by Alicia Keys and a book by Kristoffer Diaz. Inspired by the 15-time Grammy winner’s life, the story centers on 17-year-old Ali and her mother, sharing a cramped apartment near Times Square. Ali wants to live out her NYC dream, but Mom is scared her daughter will repeat her own mistakes.
Amanda Reid’s first time on a theatre stage was the summer before her 8th grade. She played Gabriella in High School Musical 2, Jr. She was a competitive gymnast until the age of 13 and was planning to compete in college, but she knew something was missing. She felt the strong need to pursue acting and performing, so she decided to leave gymnastics and started her theatre dreams!
While training at the NTPA Academy, Amanda filmed her first big tv role, co-starring in the new Apple TV+ Series, “Me,” which released in July 2024. Amanda graduated from NTPA Academy in 2023 and is currently studying for her BFA in Musical Theater at Shenandoah University.
At North Texas Performing Arts, we believe that theatre has a lasting impact on the lives of our students and Amanda has shown that in her recent endeavors. Amanda is truly a shining star and we are so proud of her.
Congratulations Amanda – We can’t wait to continue cheering you on and watching all of your dreams come true!
